I had the most insanely awesome weekend staying at The Standard Hotel Downtown this past weekend. I knew from the second I walked in the joint, I wanted to reserve a block of rooms for the wedding.
Well. Turns out the whole place is SOLD OUT for the weekend of July 30th-August 1st 2010. I left a message with their group sales, hoping that it wasn't true...but I have a bad feeling. There's seriously no other hotel in DTLA that even comes close on the cool factor. I was going to write this big post about the hotel and how excited I was to stay there for the wedding, but alas...
I know I'll get over it, but for the time being, I'm bummed as f*ck.
I'm so so so so sorry. I know you'll get over it and I know you'll find such a great alternative. So great, in fact, that your guests will never know you initially lusted after a different hotel altogether. The Standard certainly does urban chic the best, but there are other character-filled DTLA options that are amazing and very LA.
