I'm back! Where the fuck do I even begin?!

Time to conquer the dance floor... err, I mean get back to blogging.
Hello, F-Bomb! Hello, world! Bowie Bride's back!  There's a ballsload of emotions circling my body right now, and I have so much to share with you all.  I didn't have time to prepare for my post-wedding recap plan of attack for the blog in the weeks leading up to the wedding, so expect things to be a tad chaotic up in here for a bit. But as always, I promise it won't be boring...
Yes. We ALL got loaded at Hitchfest 2010. The stickers don't lie, people.
Overall reaction to wedding day as a whole: BEST.DAY.OF.MY.LIFE. Truly. I can't think to describe it any other way. It was just amazing.  The emotion. The joy. The love. Sharing it all with family and friends. Dancing our heads off. Letting go of every piece of stress that had proceeded. It was pure bliss. It was better than sex. Better than listening to Kid A stoned for the first time. Better than the best meal you could ever conceive of eating. It was truly the best day of my life, and that ain't bullshit.
First dance bliss!
Don't get me wrong, many things surely went to shit. Oh, boy did they. The week leading up to the wedding was pure insanity. There was just no time for anything.  I didn't get to so many projects I had on my list.  Which certainly pissed me off -- not so much that said projects didn't get made, but pissed that I wasted all that damn time thinking about them! Anyway, back to the wedding. I was nervous all morning the day of.  Oh, and I was also hungover. ACES. Definitely more to come on that later.  Ha... ha ha ha. There was still so much that needed to get done. And so much stuff that I wished I had time to deal with personally. But I knew it would all come together at the hands of Mike, our amazing friends Sara and Tyler, our jack of all trades Steve, our workhorse wedding party that went above and beyond, and our ever-capable, insanely helpful and fabulous D.O.C., Wendy Ramos of "Just Wenderful" who pretty much designed the entire layout of the venue, decor set-up and all (a lot more to come on that too!).  They were at the venue all day Saturday setting up practically. So you know those "groomsmen getting ready shots" we're all "supposed" to have? Yeah those didn't happen. They were busy buying flowers and stringing lights and doing whatever bullshit we left til the day of. Many, many, many individual thanks to come for these folks in the coming posts. They truly blew our minds with their overwhelming generosity, and they deserve to be recognized.

After our "first look" (more to come on that. Ha! You'll see), we walked to the subway and rode the train to the venue, just like I had envisioned all these months. And it was magical.
On the train, headed to the venue! Holy crap! This is really all happening!
But my magic feeling was also mixed with mega nerves.  When we arrived at the venue, we had another 30 minutes before we walked out into the ceremony. So I decided to sit alone. With a drink. Naturally. And I just breathed in and out, hoping to calm the "don't fall on your face" side of my nerves so I could feel the excited side of my nerves.

Then it was time to line up.  We walked out. We were there.  Standing in front of a crowd of our favorite people and suddenly, the nerves just went away. I was balls-excited to say my vows to Mike.  And when he said his vows to me, my heart stopped.  Nothing else mattered. We could have ended the night there, went home and I would have called the wedding a complete success. The words we spoke to each other. The marriage. That was what mattered and ONLY mattered.  I no longer gave a shit that we had red plastic kegger cups for the guests. I no longer cared that I forgot the flower boy's basket at the hotel (more to come on that later. LOL). The little things that I thought I'd care so much about, no longer mattered. We were married and we were really fucking happy.

So that's where I begin I guess... at really fucking happy!!!!  Many fun posts to come, dear readers. Stay tuned!

  2. So very very very cool! Yea for the nerves fading...I felt exactly like you did I think from what you described. The only difference was that even though my nerves faded during the ceremony, I still felt like I was going to pass out because my corset gown was strangling me to death! :)

But like you, the stuff that fell apart or didn't get done just didn't matter. I love this post. I love that you love that you are married and how it all went down.

You look so effin' happy in these photos! I just can't get over it. Congrats, lady!
