WTF Friday: Engagement Ring Piercing?

Imagine proposing to your partner at a piercing parlor.  Now imagine seeing the engagement ring being pierced through his or her finger.  Ouch.  Of all the piercings one could get, I'd say this one falls very low on the "Yeah, sure I'd do that" scale. I'd say it lands somewhere between cock ring and nipple piercing.  But that's just me.
Please tell me there is someone out there who has had this done or knows someone else who has. 'Cause that would make my Friday.

  2. I'm all for piercings, but this one kind of makes me gag. I'm just not sure how that's comfortable and holy FUCK what if it snags on something?? Ok...I can't.

  10. that is definitely not real. although i've seen ring finger piercings and a lot of diamond tattoos. something a little more subtle could be a cool alternative though, like this http://www.me-likey.com/images/2008/11/05/ring.jpg

  11. i don't know... this could be real. there are some super talented piercers who can do some amazing things.

    this however, terrifies me. knowing my clumsy ass i'd probably bang my finger into a wall and then it would get infected and they'd have to remove my entire left hand.

  18. I've had this idea for years! How awesome would it be to have a piercer instead of a ring bearer at the altar? I love it. And this is far more intricate than I thought possible. Amazing.

    I have seen that photo for years and I assure you it has been photo shopped. It is possible to pierce a finger in that manner but it would most certainly reject (push out of the skin) as the angles at which it exits the skin are bad. The photo implies a healed piercing as there is no redness, swelling, or bleeding. When people get their fingers pierced it's usually done with a micro dermal anchor which has a much higher success rate and looks far less creepy. You can google search that one, all you'll see is a single gem sitting on top of the finger, but again they tend to reject as they get caught on everything.
