WTF Friday: Engagement Ring Piercing?

Imagine proposing to your partner at a piercing parlor.  Now imagine seeing the engagement ring being pierced through his or her finger.  Ouch.  Of all the piercings one could get, I'd say this one falls very low on the "Yeah, sure I'd do that" scale. I'd say it lands somewhere between cock ring and nipple piercing.  But that's just me.
Please tell me there is someone out there who has had this done or knows someone else who has. 'Cause that would make my Friday.

  1. OK, this has GOT to be Photoshopped, right? I'm all for individual self-expression but this is indeed a WTF!

  2. I'm all for piercings, but this one kind of makes me gag. I'm just not sure how that's comfortable and holy FUCK what if it snags on something?? Ok...I can't.

  3. I'm a little curious how they even pierce with the three-holes needed for this ring...wow. That just looks...effed up.

  4. Oh, wow. I should not have looked at this over breakfast. You need a warning or something.

  5. HOLY GROSS, Batman! I'm all for shaking things up, but that kinda makes me nauseous.

  6. Oouch! This one makes me feel a little queasy, I have to admit (though I will take tattoos over piercings any day, so I am slightly biased).

  7. i'm so uncomfortable in my own finger skin right now. gah.

  8. I'm positive that's 'shopped, but I'm also positive that someone has probably tried this.

  9. that is definitely not real. although i've seen ring finger piercings and a lot of diamond tattoos. something a little more subtle could be a cool alternative though, like this http://www.me-likey.com/images/2008/11/05/ring.jpg

  10. i don't know... this could be real. there are some super talented piercers who can do some amazing things.

this however, terrifies me. knowing my clumsy ass i'd probably bang my finger into a wall and then it would get infected and they'd have to remove my entire left hand.

  11. I am a graphic designer and that is totally a photoshop picture. Although, it is something that a piecer could do!

  16. I've had this idea for years! How awesome would it be to have a piercer instead of a ring bearer at the altar? I love it. And this is far more intricate than I thought possible. Amazing.

  21. I am a professional body piercer http://www.inksanitytattoo.org/Tiffany.html
I have seen that photo for years and I assure you it has been photo shopped. It is possible to pierce a finger in that manner but it would most certainly reject (push out of the skin) as the angles at which it exits the skin are bad. The photo implies a healed piercing as there is no redness, swelling, or bleeding. When people get their fingers pierced it's usually done with a micro dermal anchor which has a much higher success rate and looks far less creepy. You can google search that one, all you'll see is a single gem sitting on top of the finger, but again they tend to reject as they get caught on everything.

  22. dude. a cock ring is for sex. you wear it on your cock. they can vibrate and stuff. the word you're looking for it the 'prince albert' piercing. cool article all the same though.

  23. If they really want to shake things up and be alternative, how about opting out of the marriage thing altogether? Love and life together stays intact without having to indulge in the materialism/consumerism of "symbols".

  24. as a photographer this picture is very photo shopped.. and while i find it hard to believe that a finger piercing could look this good, if it could i would get the guy version and get my fiance that. totally wicked

  29. I like it, but then it's more for the romanticized version, forever bound by your love of one special someone, in all reality I'd say no to the suggesting if only because of my proffesion(mechanic)if not my fear of all things painfull.

  30. It'd be a cool piercing if it wasn't guaranteed to snag on something. Holy crap that would be painful to have it ripped out!

  38. The 1920s dress styles raised the hemlines throughout the decade. Stockings and shoes became more important in the fashion industry as they became more visible. A flapper style dress had a flowing hemline that swung above the knee while dancing. The hemlines on dresses during this decade fell just above the ankle as well for a more formal appearance.
