So. Out of curiosity, I asked her if renting out a venue at ASU was expensive and she was like, "hell no!" Of course this number is entirely dependent on how long you will need to use the space and what for, etc., but the number she quoted me was lower than what we paid for our venue, which was $2500. So you decide for yourself if that's a good price or not...
But here's the thing: hosting your wedding at your alma mater could carry tons of special meaning for you, or you and your future husband, if you both met there, and/or graduated from there. I know it would have had special meaning for my husband and I, as we met in Astronomy 101 on ASU's campus.
Also, many college campuses have been around for quite some time and have maintained their historic buildings. And what better backdrop for your wedding photographer than a gorgeous, fully preserved historic building? In ASU's case, they rent out one ASU's first-ever constructed buildings called "Old Main" shown below:

The inside isn't too shabby either
Another perk to hosting your wedding on a college campus is getting to use "on-campus" art and architecture as backdrops for your wedding pictures. ASU has tons of beautiful back-drop opps:
And guess where the party train will be headed to after the college campus wedding reception? Why, to the college campus bars, of course! Oh, the nostalgia... it's making me so excited for Friday.
Have you guys attended a wedding on a college campus? How was it?

it's funny seeing ASU from this perspective. i never thought it beautiful when i was there, but you're right- it's a pretty rad campus.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it was around when you were going to ASU... but if not, Cornish Pasty Co. (off Hardy & University) is definitely a must-NOT miss while you're back in town!
ReplyDelete...oops just realized you've already been and gone... well, next time then!
Beautiful venues. :)
