Seriously? Get him measured and then order a suit you like from a tailor that sources from Asia. Not very local-biz-supporting, but great for saving your sanity. And decently affordable (compared to doing the same at Barneys, at least, where they source from Naples and charge you $3,000).

I totally hear you on this, though our problem is the guestlist, not the suit.

I hate shopping in stores specifically, the digging for stuff. It makes me anxious and aggitated. What's worked for me is to find what I like online first, and then when I go to a store I know exactly what I'm going in for. In and out. It helps to know your measurements. Could you maybe do the legwork for him online and send him stuff to look at that way? At the very least it would narrow down the search and limit his time physically in a store?

Sure. Maybe I sound like an asshole for writing passive aggressive posts about my frustration with him. Maybe I should have explicitly said that his ADD directly affects things like shopping for suits. So there you go. But he's on Adderall. And I have done e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g in my power as his partner to help motivate him. But so far nothing has been successful. So I'm left feeling frustrated. Frustrated and alone, especially in the process of planning this wedding. And the one thing that I need him to actually be *present* for in this process, THE ONE THING, is his damn suit. So fuck me for getting pissed that he's not doing it.

The first time I took Mr. Beagle suit shopping was such a bitch. He pouted and protested and drove me bat shit crazy.

I was persistent. Took him to a good Men's Warehouse (he was prejudiced about this place thinking only old men shop there). Got him into two really sharp Calvin Klein suits. Now he's obsessed with suits and loves them. That or he knows that they turns me on and purposely wears them in front of me. Oh sigh.

Whoa! I hadn't read your first blog re: Mike's apparent dislike of shopping when I first saw this, so I went back and read it plus all the comments. Hmmmm....I guess I must say that he should try a little harder, but in his possible defense, I'd say that I don't much like shopping for clothes for myself with Ms. Wendy there, either. Reminds me too much of when I was a kid that had just gotten fashion-consciousness (about 11-12 years old, I think) and I was still being taken by my grandma May for clothes shopping. I didn't much like it then, and I know I don't like it now. I do like shopping for clothes by myself, but I'll be the first to admit I have made many mistakes I've regretted by not having Ms. Wendy there for some guidance (suits that didn't look that great or pants way too big, or buying way too many 100% cotton shirts not thinking of the wrinkle problem that would occur later!) Mostly now she shops for me without me being there and it works out good as I always like what she gets, it usually fits right, it's made out of a laundry-friendly fabric, and I know the price is right! I do feel in this case, however, that Mike should try harder and let you help him get the right wedding suit, as this is a very special event and he'll be grateful when it does look great on him in the wedding pix, etc. Mike, just have some Monkey Ballz before you guys go again, maybe Britt, too, and things will be more chill, hopefully. I thought you wrote a blog before about how he is ADHD? I'm sure it must be extremely frustrating for you; but this is one area that can be directly contributed to his condition. When it comes to shopping of any kind unless you can be assured it will take less then 2 minutes for the entire experience; it really is healthier for you both to leave him at home. I'm sure he cares about what he wears; he just simply can't handle the combination of stimuli and tedious task. Very few people with ADHD can. It physically hurts; but it's something very hard to express; especially for a guy.

We went on our first suit shopping trip this weekend and it was a total disaster. He-Mouse tried on something perfect and expensive first, a classic boy shopping mistake. Now he hates everything affordable. grr
