Well. Kind of. I got to play the part of a bride on Halloween night. And I went BALLZ out. I had the big hair, the huge veil, the big poofy tulle dress, the bouquet, and even the long gloves! So what if I was playing the part of Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice and the dress was red and I wore hardcore black combat boots and pale white make-up with it. I was a bride dammit. And it was FUN.
Halloween night was extra special because we officially hit the "9 months til we're hitched" mark. It's an exciting feeling, knowing that he and I will be husband and wife not too long from now. We definitely reminded each other of this fact throughout the night, further making our already festive Halloween that much more awesome.
And it was kind of silly, but the first time I walked out in my Lydia bride costume, Mike looked at me lovingly and said, "I can't wait to marry you." Maybe it was the bouquet and the veil, and the fact that we were both at least three glasses of champagne deep at that point, but it was a lovely little moment. Hopefully one of many lovely little moments to occur as we plan this crazy wedding over the next 9 months.
9 months. Whoa.
Last night, after the Halloween excitement had died down, that number started to sink in. We're approaching the, "Holy ballz we need to get rollin' on our Save the Date cards, our guest list needs to be finalized, we have to sign a contract with the caterer, sign the contracts for the room block, sign the contract with our photog, and get all the addresses from our guests" mark. We got engaged december 1, 2008, so the fact that all this is FINALLY happening, is thankfully proving to be more exciting than overwhelming at this point. I'm sure it's gonna get crazy here real fast, but I'm thinking positively. We've got a lot of peeps in our corner, so I know we'll get everything done on time. Which remiunds me, I have to go email my Mom and Mike's mom to ask for their help in retrieving addresses from the relatives.
Tata for now!
